Home Education is legal and valid in every state and territory in Australia.

VRQA - Victoria Registration & Qualifications Authority

In Victoria, home education or home schooling means that a parent or both parents assume the overall responsibility for their child’s educational program.
The law says that any child of compulsory school age (6–17 years) who is being educated at home must be registered with the VRQA; Victoria’s home education regulator.

NESA- NSW Education Standards Authority

The Education Act 1990 allows parents to choose to educate their children at home.
To be home schooled, a child of compulsory schooling age must be registered by NESA.
NESA issues a certificate of home schooling registration if registration is approved.

HEN - Home Education Network

The Home Education Network (HEN) is a not-for profit organisation providing support and information for home educators. HEN is the largest, most vocal, home education support group in Victoria.

As well as maintaining this website, we run events, camps and activities, and provide home-ed support services in the form of email support, messaging and Facebook groups. HEN also publishes Otherways, the oldest and most widely read home education magazine in Australia today.
